We update our ratings When sufficient evidence comes to light. Also, we go over all of our ratings in two months period.

Our research is based on the publicly available official information. We don’t take rumor and unproven information into account.
After initial research, we contact with developers and founders to make a deeper analysis.

PRODUCT

  • Current state against existing solutions -> Could the market do without the product. How important is it to switch from existing solutions.
  • Total addressable market size -> If there were no competitors and if this product delivers on every roadmap promises how big of a market could they serve.
  • Product/market fit -> is this product in a good market with a good solution. Demand for product and T.A.M looks for potential, market fit examines status quo.
  • How is the product compared to existing solutions? -> Overall comparison to existing solutions. Technology, design, user experience, anonymity, interoperability, security, speed, and trust are features we look into.
  • How difficult is to make the product? -> Most of the blockchain projects are open-source. Solving a challenging problem might require complex, not easy to clone product. This aspect of the product heavily depends on strengths of the team and makes it harder to replace by other solutions.
  • Could this product scale? -> How fast could this product address its total market size? Are they working on blockchain scalability issues, is the product require manual installation/deployment or users/companies switch to it by themselves.

 

TEAM

  • Team’s previous experience -> Are they experienced in this field? Do they have successful exits? Do they have a strong network in this area? This focuses on the management side of the team
  • Does the team have a clear vision? -> How simple they define what they do, what they want to achieve?  Are their priorities align with this vision?
  • Is technical team sufficient for building the product? -> Depending on the product, do they have blockchain, distributed systems, smart contracts, security, machine learning or design experts? Did they work on similar technologies before?
  • Is the team active? -> Developer participation, marketing, new partnerships, product update frequency, social presence, community interactions, attending to conferences, AMAs.
  • Is the team size big enough? -> A small focused and talented team could deliver on many projects. Is it the case for them? In order to satisfy their market, do they need more members on development, marketing, management or support?
  • How is the team growth? -> Compared to where they started, are they expanding the company? If it is a community-driven project, do they attract new developers?

 

EXECUTION

  • Could this team get the product into a market? -> Not just launch the product, but deliver a product the market needs. This also includes future development and partnerships.
  • Could they do it in time? -> Would competitors have a lead on delivery? Do they have a too long roadmap for the final product? If the product is ready and the goal is mass adoption, how efficiently they are increasing the user base?
  • Did they meet previous deadlines? -> Where there any delays on the public roadmap? Were there more than usual problems on execution (might be bugs, hacks, canceled partnerships, pivots, etc..) How well did they address these issues?
  • Is the marketing strategy sufficient? -> How well their targets know them? Do they have a strong community? Are they using social channels, meetings, partnerships to increase their presence? Marketing is a necessary part of sales. If the product is not ready, it could start in the later stages of the development. If that is the case, we will update this item in the future.
  • Team’s previous achievements -> This project might be the achievement of the team. However, in business, the previous achievement is a good indicator of their capabilities to deliver on the project.
  • Strategic partnerships -> There are levels of partnerships. Are they just looking for announcements or is it going to expand their market? Do they have key partnerships to dominate the market?
  • Current market size -> Compared to existing products, how much of the market is theirs?
